He was part of the winning team at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, where he scored four goals in eight appearances for the Golden Eaglets.

He also won the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and Africa U-23 Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

He added that he worked in the bakery and as a bricklayer.

He said, "I had done almost every job in Nigeria back then, I worked in a bakery and worked as a bricklayer. The most challenging part of it was getting the money to buy the football Shoes.

Taiwo Awoniyi set to return to action

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi is set to return to action.

Awoniyi has been out of action since January 4, when he scored the winner against Southampton but then limped off.

Cooper said he has returned to training and is ready to help the Reds.

Awoniyi had scored five goals before injury struck.
