Gor Mahia's Congolese striker Gedeon Bendeka has put AFC Leopards on notice ahead of the Mashemeji derby amid uncertainity over the fixture.

Gor Mahia striker Gedeon Bendeka believes K'Ogalo will prevail in the Mashemeji derby on November 24 despite the uncertainty surrounding the fixture.

The Congolese forward, who has been an impact substitute, believes form won't count as he is eager to help the record Kenyan Premier League champions return to winning ways in the high-octane match against perennial rivals AFC Leopards.

Bendeka, 26, has scored twice this season from the bench. Gor Mahia are winless in the last four matches, a result that saw Brazilian tactician Leonardo Neiva part ways with the club.

"I promise to score in the derby. I am putting my best foot forward in training to be in my best shape and form in readiness for the game. We have dominated the fixture for a long time and I am determined to ensure status quo remains," he told SportsBoom.

The league resumes after the international break and Bendeka is itching to leave a mark in the derby. The 21-time FKFPL champions won both legs last season and have been the better team in the derby in the last couple of seasons.

"I am sure we will win the game. We have prepared well during the league break. We have worked on the areas that cost us three points in the past three matches," he said.

Gor Mahia vice captain Geoffrey Ochieng is unavailable for selection after seeing red in the 2-0 defeat against coastal side Bandari.

Uncertainity, however, surrounds the fixture with Leopards mulling over postponing the match after failing to secure a suitbale venue.
