'I haven't been good enough' — Self critical Haaland says he is low on confidence after Aston Villa defeat

Erling Haaland brutally criticised himself following the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Manchester City striker Erling was self-critical of his recent performances, stating quite honestly that he and the rest of his team have to improve.

The Norway international has a blistering start to the season, threatening to break all previously held records. He has since slowed down, with only one goal in his last six Premier League games.

This awful form has run concurrently with the Cityzens' dismal run that has left them with one win in 12 matches, and Haaland, speaking to reporters after their most recent defeat, spoke candidly of his outings.

What Haaland said

Pep Guardiola’s side were handed their sixth Premier League defeat earlier in the day, a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, and Haaland extended his drought.

Speaking after the game, he said,” "It's a couple of minutes since the game, so not a lot. But of course, we are disappointed; it's not good enough. It's not good enough from me,” he said, when asked about the mood in the dressing room after another defeat.

"We have to continue. First I'm looking at myself; I haven't been doing things good enough; I haven't been scoring my chances. I have to do better; I haven't been good enough."

Speaking in his confidence level, be said, "Of course, not the best. We know how important confidence is and you can see that it affects every human being. That is how it is, we have to continue and stay positive even though it is difficult."
