'I wanted a better farewell' - Eugene Mukangula regrets AFC Leopards exit
He maintains that the genesis of his troubles and decline in form can be best traced to the events of June last year.
The former Thika United man revealed that winning the league, featuring for Harambee Stars, and playing in Europe were some of the huge career goals he had in mind when he first burst into the top tier as a lanky winger. However, he said all is not lost and doesn't consider himself a failure just because he has failed to hit one of his targets in the years he has graced the Kenyan top tier.
"I have never met my career expectations at all. I had wished to play professional football and be a regular figure in the national team. I had hopes of winning trophies in our domestic competitions as well. I however don't feel like I have failed so long as I tried and gave an honest fight," he said as revealed by Sportsboom.
Mukangula was pictured in the stands when Leopards beat Nairobi City Stars 2-1 at Dandora Stadium over a week ago, eliciting talks of whether a reunion could be in the pipeline.

The much-awaited tournament brings together players from domestic leagues.
Reacting to the talks, Mukangula who maintains that there is no bad blood between him and the club, said the ball was on the Leopards' court. He said if the Ingwe bosses and technical bench make the call, he would consult his agent first before making up his mind.
"There is no bad blood between us at all. The past is long gone. I have been attending their matches by coincidence, to be honest. Most of Leopards' matches have been played in convenient facilities and thus my availability.
"If they are interested in my services again, I would consider it, but several things will have to be agreed on first. I will also have to consult my agent first," he said.
