Fred Ambani has lifted the mood at the den since taking charge late last year and does not want to tinker with his squad.
AFC Leopards coach Fred Ambani has reiterated that the team will not recruit players in the January transfer window even as their rivals continue to strengthen.
The former player shot down plans to reinforce his squad maintaining that he trusts his young charges to come good as the season wears on. “I have confidence in my team and I don’t intend to make any additions in the name of new signings,” Ambani told Citizen Digital.

‘We have the right ingredients’ - Fred Ambani on how AFC Leopards are ‘cooking’ a first league title in 27 years
AFC Leopards coach Fred Ambani has given reasons why he feels Ingwe can end their 27-year wait for a league title this season.
Ingwe have managed 11 points from a possible 15 in the five matches the former Harambee Stars player has taken charge and the 13-time champions are unbeaten during that period.
Wins against Police, Tusker and Bandari have lifted the mood at the den and the draws against Kakamega Homeboyz and Sofapaka have enabled Ingwe to shake off their inconsistency.
“The team has performed well according to the expectations of the fans, I have to congratulate the players and show them that you believe in them fully. I appreciate what the players are doing and I am convinced that they can continue with the good run of form they have had,” added Ambani.

How AFC Leopards wonderkid Kelly Madada's desire to uplift family is motivating him to do well for Harambee Stars
Kelly Madada made the final 24-man Harambee Stars squad for the Mapinduzi Cup, which is serving as a platform to help Francis Kimanzi identify the squad for the 2024 CHAN tournament.
Ambani, who took over from the sacked Czech Republic-born tactician Tomas Trucha in November last year after a string of poor results, has instigated an immediate improvement in results.
Leopards are five points of leaders KCB, although the Ruaraka-based bankers have played one game more. The two sides face off in their next assignment as battle for the FKFPL gong shapes up. With their good run, Ambani tipped Ingwe to end the 27-year title drought.
The former champions last won the title in 1998.
“Yes the team has stayed long without a league title and I believe it's time for us to compete and turn tables around to win the league and make fans proud,” said Ambani.
