Following the resignation of Finidi George, a former Real Madrid midfielder has stated his desire to coach Nigeria.
Mutiu Adepoju has spent three years with Madrid, scoring 27 goals in 67 games for the Real Madrid B team, lifting the Segunda División B title.
The midfielder completed his UEFA Pro Coaching Licence licence program before taking a job in Nigeria.

Adepoju wants Super Eagles' job
Mutiu Adepoju hinted that he would be willing to return to the dugout on a podcast, where he may take over the Super Eagles of Nigeria's unfilled coaching position.
Adepoju said in a Managing Madrid podcast, “We had several players in the Castilla team who are brilliant coaches today, and we didn’t see it at the time.
“I have a UEFA Pro license myself, so if there’s an opportunity, I wouldn’t mind. I’m open. I once coached Shooting Stars in Nigeria, but I haven’t coached since then.”
The AFCON winner has made his intention known about the Super Eagles coaching job, insisting he is ready to take the job.
Adepoju won the AFCON tournament with the Super Eagles in 1994 and had a good spell with the Nigerian team.
Adepoju played football for Racing Santander and Real Sociedad in Spain after leaving Real Madrid, where he spent the majority of his playing career.
Before going to Turkey to play for Samsunspor, he also had a brief stint with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
