What happened
After seven seasons at Manchester United, Pogba was set to leave the Red Devils on a free transfer. After a summer in which he was linked with joining multiple clubs, he returned to Juventus, where he spent four seasons, winning the Scudetto each year in his first stint.
Before his move to Juventus, the 2018 World Cup winner was linked to a sensational move across town to Premier League champions Manchester City, but he reportedly rejected them.
Ahead of his glorious return to action, following CAS’s ruling to reduce the four-year ban he received after a banned substance was found in his bloodstream, the 31-year-old had an interview with Mail Sports, where he was asked about the Manchester City move.
What Pogba said
Pogba confirmed to his interviewer that Manchester City approached him and that he found their offer appealing.
However, the offer came after Pogba was a victim of a burglary, and he said he needed to leave the city entirely.
"Honestly, I had a lot of problems,” said. “I had the burglary, I had problem with the extortion. “I had to leave Manchester. Let's say it like this: if I didn't have that (problems) maybe I would have been at (Manchester) City.”
