Michira, who has arguably been the FKF Premier League's best player so far this season, has opened up on the reasons behind his form that saw him called up to Harambee Stars squad.
Shabana winger Brian Michira is riding a wave of exceptional form that has earned him a call-up to the provisional Harambee Stars squad for the Mapinduzi Cup, scheduled for January 3-13 in Zanzibar.
The winger’s impressive performances have been pivotal in Shabana's remarkable turnaround this season, lifting them from the relegation zone to a surprise title challenge.
Michira has been nothing short of sensational, netting seven crucial goals this campaign. His contributions have not only transformed Shabana’s fortunes but also placed him as a front-runner for the coveted FKF Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Reflecting on his success, Michira attributes his rise to unwavering self-belief. “I am the best player, and I always believe in myself. Everyone always has a chance because it is all about their time coming, but I am always the best whenever I play,” Michira boldly declared.
The winger’s resurgence coincided with the arrival of a new technical bench, led by assistant coach Bernard Mwalala. Michira credits their influence for significant improvements in his game.
"I’m a better player now. Decision-making was a challenge for me, but thanks to the new technical bench, I’ve made great strides," he said. Once a benchwarmer, Michira has now cemented his place as a key starter.

How Harambee Stars fared in 2024: AFCON heartbreak, lack of home support & Engin Firat's abysmal record
Harambee Stars had a 2024 to forget under the stewardship of the now-departed Engin Firat. Will 2025 be a better year for the side?
In an earlier interview with Pulse Sports, Michira acknowledged the coaches’ role in his development.
"I didn’t start the season well, and I take responsibility for that. But I must acknowledge the role of the coaches in helping me regain confidence and form. Their faith in me, consistent game time, and dedication to my development on and off the pitch have made a huge difference," he added.
The 2021 National Super League (NSL) Young Player of the Year has set high personal goals, aiming to score at least 15 league goals this season.
"I will push myself to work harder and pray to achieve that,” he remarked, underscoring his determination to maintain his upward trajectory.
