Hussein Mohammed has provided a way out of the current standoff at FKF that sees the federation barred from transacting any business while the election deadline approaches.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidential hopeful Hussein Mohammed feels there are only two ways out of the current standoff at the federation following a court ruling.
The High Court, through Lady Justice Janet Mulwa, on Tuesday issued orders stopping FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) from transacting any business, including convening any general meeting until October 7, leaving Kenyan football in crisis.
It means the NEC will have little time to conduct elections before their term ends on October 17 while the branches will cease to exist on September 18 which will plunge the game into further crisis.

The FKF presidential hopeful is worried about the sorry state of Kenyan football which he feels is capable of generating a lot of revenue with the right structures in place.
As such, Mohammed is proposing an immediate Special General Meeting or a normalisation committee to oversee the transition and save Kenyan football from the crisis.
“There will be no office to organise the preparations and subsequent participation of the junior starlets’ qualification into the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup scheduled to commence on the 16th of October 2024 at the Dominican Republic. We cannot afford to deny the young girls of this country the opportunity to not only showcase their talent but to market Kenya’s sporting prowess at the global arena,” Mohammed says in his statement.
“Kenya’s hosting rights of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 are in serious jeopardy as Kenya will be suspended by FIFA for not complying with directives of meeting the deadline of conducting elections.

High Court upholds ban hindering FKF from holding AGM
The high court has decided to uphold the ban it imposed on FKF from holding its AGM until October.
“The national leagues - Kenya Premier League, National Super league and Division one league for both men and women will also come to a halt. We are in this crisis because of the illegalities committed by reinstating the National Executive committee and the contemptuous actions of the FKF National Executive Committee purporting to run Kenyan football.
“We call upon the members of congress of Football Kenya Federation to call for an SGM immediately, nominate an acting National Executive Committee that will set up roadmap for the elections and preparations of the junior starlets for the U17 Women’s World Cup.
“Alternatively, FIFA and Government of Kenya should set up a normalization committee with the singular task of preparing and overseeing a free, fair, credible and all-inclusive FKF elections.”

Hussein Mohammed demands swift justice in FKF corruption saga involving Nick Mwendwa
Nick Mwendwa finds himself targeted by FKF presidential hopeful Hussein Mohammed urging speedy prosecution over alleged corruption in stadium funds.
Mohammed has also called for the quick prosecution of federation officials involved in the misuse of over Sh330 million intended for stadium upgrades for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
“As you are all aware, there are recommendations from the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) to the office of the DPP with regards to charging the current leadership of Kenya Football Federation for misappropriating funds that had been set aside for stadia renovation. We urge the DPP to act on that file without further ado,” added the Murang’a Seal vice chairman.
The FKF elections have been delayed by litigations after an Annual General Meeting (AGM) slated for March was stopped by a court order but FIFA warned of consequences if the country continues solving disputes in the corridors of justice while asking the federation to conduct the polls before its term in office ends.
