Maroons FC were the biggest winners of the first batch of games, picking up a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Wakiso Giants at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso on Sunday.

Abraham Tusubira’s Man of the Match performance saw him set up the two goals scored by Darius Ojok before getting in on the act with a goal of his own to get Maroons off the mark in the new season.

The victory meant that only one home team managed to pick up a point, with all the other six losing in front of their home crowds.

Kitara started their life in the top flight with a 2-1 win over record champions SC Villa on Friday, Elvis Ngonde’s own goal at the death deciding the contest.

With players like Denis Omedi, Frank Tumwesigye, Paul Mucureezi, Brian Aheebwa and Jude Ssemugabi, Kitara put on a show on away territory to return to Hoima with maximum points.
