The Gunners boss once lived with Barcelona and Brazil legend Ronaldinho
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently shared stories of his time at Paris Saint-Germain as a young player, where he had the privilege of being roommates with Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho.
The two lived and played together for a year and a half, during which Arteta witnessed firsthand the incredible talent and infectious personality of the football legend.

Speaking before Arsenal’s Champions League game against PSG, Arteta spoke highly of Ronaldinho’s immense impact on both PSG and Barcelona, saying, “He is the only player that I’ve seen in history that, by himself, transformed two clubs. He did it in Paris, he transformed it.

“Then he went to Barcelona in one of the worst moments, and he transformed it again.”
The Arsenal manager also marvelled at Ronaldinho’s natural energy and positivity, adding, “He had an aura, an energy, a smile on his face, and it was impossible to be next to him and be in a bad mood,” Arteta added, emphasizing the Brazilian’s influence both on and off the pitch.

Arteta, who has gone on to become a successful manager after playing spells with PSG, Everton, and Arsenal, still finds it hard to grasp Ronaldinho’s extraordinary talent.

“I’ve never seen a talent like this. In training, in every drill, it’s like ‘How is this possible?’ Physically, it’s impossible to do certain things,” he recounted.
Beyond his on-field brilliance, Ronaldinho’s humility and generosity left a lasting impression on Arteta as his roommate, which the former PSG player recounted, saying, “Everything was good, never a problem. Great times.”
Although Arteta and Ronaldinho’s careers have seen them go in different directions, the Arsenal manager still fondly remembers his time with the Brazilian great at PSG.
