According to a former K'Ogalo tactician, the player had to run at night and forgot key documents at the police's house.

Former Gor Mahia assistant coach Frank Furo Ouna has explained how one of his players once survived being shot after he was found in a house with a policeman's wife.

The incident, as narrated by the tactician, occurred in 2014, when the team was in Kisumu ahead of a Premier League match against Western Stima.

The said player, whose name the coach did not mention but was referred to by a pseudonym, met a woman, made eyes, and then decided to go with the woman to her house as the other players were entertained in their local hotel.

"One of our players, let me call him 'Madowo', had his eyes fixed on a fine Nyar Kisumo [a Kisumu girl], light and wasp-like. They kept eyeing each other lusciously. Unbeknownst to him and all of us, the lady was married, and the husband, a cop, was also in the crowd, seated in a different place but carrying out surveillance after sensing danger," Ouna narrated in a social media post.

"Madowo had a very suggestive dance with this lady, and they eventually decided to elope to her house, which was just behind our hotel. I think the lady was convinced the husband was busy with other women and wouldn't notice her disappearance."

The coach went on to say that the player and the woman were accosted by the policeman, but the footballer managed to escape.

"The husband was quickly and stealthily inside [the house], fully armed, but Madowo surprised him with a strong push and took off through the open door. The chase went on, with the cop threatening to shoot but Madowo not giving in.

"Madowo eventually made his way to the team hotel with the cop in hot pursuit. Madowo mingled with the Ohangla crowd and disappeared. In his hasty escape, Madowo forgot his jeans, wallet, and passport at the 'crime scene'."

The said player only got his documents after high-ranking officials helped him, according to the former Wazito FC head coach.

"It would take months and the intervention of high ranking policemen and the Kisumu Governor's office for Madowo to recover his documents," Ouna added.

"Every time we would subsequently spend time in that hotel, I would check him in with his new alias, Michael Madowo. In case the agitated were still hunting him down."
