Cameroon coach Marc Brys has admitted his side are under pressure to deliver to home fans which could play to Kenya’s advantage when the two sides clash in the AFCON 2025 qualifier.

Cameroon coach Marc Brys admits his side are feeling pressure ahead of their meeting with Kenya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Indomitable Lions have a double header against Harambee Stars with the first match set to take place on October 11 in Douala and the second three days later in Kampala, Uganda.

Both teams are tied on four points, with Kenya ahead on goal difference, and despite their pedigree and quality, Brys says while his charges are ready, they go into the clash knowing they must deliver.

"It's up to us now. We have no excuses. In the end, I think I'm responsible. We're going to start working and get results for the 30 million Cameroonians. We're ready, even though we're under a little pressure,” said Brys.

Cameroon named a star-studded squad that includes Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa as well as experienced striker and captain Vincent Aboubakar who plays for Hatayspor in Turkiye.

While they are five-time African champions, Cameroon have failed to impress in their recent matches, winning two of their last five games.

The Indomitable Lions exited the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Round of 16 following a 2-0 loss to Nigeria and since then, they have beaten Cape Verde 4-1, drawn 1-1 with Angola, secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Namibia before a goalless draw with Zimbabwe.

Those results have left Brys and his charges under pressure to impress while they are giving Kenya a reason to be optimistic ahead of the crucial matches.

Cameroon and Kenya have faced off eight times with the Indomitable Lions winning four while four other matches ended in draws.
