Shabana's Coach Okoth reflects on their 2-2 draw with Nairobi City Stars,

Shabana head coach Sammy Okoth has shared his thoughts on his team's exciting 2-2 draw against Nairobi City Stars in a highly anticipated match that took place at Raila Odinga Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

The clash was nothing short of football drama, with goals flying in from both sides, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Tore Bobe displayed a good performance in the first half of the match, thanks to the remarkable efforts of Eugene Mukangula and Vincent Nyabuto.

However, Nairobi City Stars were quick to assert themselves, taking an early lead in the sixth minute through Stephen Kapen's goal. The game's intensity only escalated as Vincent Owino, of Nairobi City Stars, calmly converted a penalty with just eight minutes remaining on the clock.

Shabana had come into this match fresh from ending a five-game winless streak in the top-flight league, securing a 1-0 victory over Tusker on Friday, September 6th. This triumph had set the stage for Shabana's resurgence, and their performance against Nairobi City Stars was seen as a test of their newfound form and determination.

Coach Sammy Okoth acknowledged the rollercoaster ride that the match had been, saying, "We were careless in our defending, still we conceded the first goal due to poor reaction but we did not lose the game." His assessment of the game showed a sense of resilience and optimism, highlighting the team's refusal to be defeated despite challenges on the defensive front.

"We are still learning; we need to keep on fighting and rectify the mistakes that we make. In the second goal, the penalty was unnecessary. If the defender was keen enough, he could not have made that foul," Coach Okoth added, emphasizing the need for continued improvement and self-correction within the team.

Looking ahead, Shabana will face a tough test as they go on the road to play Ulinzi on Sunday, October 29th.

On the other side of the pitch, Nairobi City Stars will be hosting KCB on the same day. The team will be eager to use the draw against Shabana as motivation to secure a victory in their upcoming match and continue their pursuit of success in the league.
