The hosts thought they were headed for a 1-1 draw but the Kakamega-based side stunned them at the death.
Two late goals from Moses Mudavadi and Christopher Masinza saw Kakamega Homeboyz secure a 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks during a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) match in Nairobi on Wednesday.
In a match that was seemingly headed for a 1-1 draw, late drama ensued when Mudavadi scored Homeboyz’s second goal in the 87th minute before Masinza made the points safe from the penalty spot two minutes later.
Both teams started the match strongly with Sharks asking the questions first and William Muluya’s side were rewarded with a well-taken goal from Leon Otieno after just nine minutes.
Midfielder Keith Imbali floated in a good ball that Otieno chested well before firing an unstoppable shot past Farouk Shikalo in the Homeboyz goal.
However, the lead did not last long as Hillary Otieno slotted home the equaliser five minutes later. Enock Agwanda had made a good run into the box and with the Sharks defenders unable to get tight to him, he teed up Otieno who fired into the bottom right corner to make it 1-1.

Sharks then lost Moses Shikanda to an injury a few minutes later, the forward forced off with an ankle problem, with Fortune Idriss Omoto replacing him.
After the break, the tempo of the game went down but Tyson Otieno nearly scored the second for Sharks after Shikhalo had spilled the ball only to fluff his lines.
Mudavadi then hit the crossbar before the rain made the pitch soggy but with both teams holding on, the Sharks defence, which has now conceded 36 goals, the third most in the division, showed their frailties again, failing to deal with Eston Esiye before he teed up Mudavaid to make it 2-1 three minutes from time.
Wilson Otieno would then win a penalty moments later, after being brought down in the box by Sharks goalkeeper Kevin Ouru with Masinza converting the resultant penalty.

FKFPL Kariobangi Sharks boss Muluya admits to defensive frailties
Sharks find themselves languishing in 15th place for goals conceded, having let in 33 goals after 23 games.
The defeat saw Sharks miss the chance to get closer to the top five to remain ninth on the log with 33 points from 24 matches, while Homeboyz are 11th just one point adrift.
Sharks have now lost back-to-back games and Muluya will also be concerned by his porous defence which seems to concede with ease.
