Djed Spence has impressed at Tottenham since getting his chance, earning praise from teammates like Destiny Udogie for his impactful performances.

Harambee Stars prospect Djed Spence struggled to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur under the leadership of former manager Antonio Conte.

However, following the injury crisis at Tottenham late last season, Djed Spence got a chance to play for the club after spending most of his time out on loans.

His first game at Tottenham Hotspur was against Southampton on 15 December 15, 2024, and since then, he has never looked back.

Djed Spence has since made 19 appearances in all competitions, starting in 17 of them. His impressive performances have earned praise from top football personalities including his teammate Destiny Udogie.

Destiny Udogie revealed that they are very close and Djed Spence has been very instrumental in helping the team boost their performance.

“I think Djed is an incredible player, we are really close friends, we speak a lot, and we try to help each other in games,” Destiny Udogie said as quoted by The Spurs Web.

“Everyone in the group is here to help, and I hope he can help us as much as possible. Since he’s come in, he’s having a top season. He’s helping the team a lot.

“We speak every day and try to help by teaching each other new stuff. So he helps me, I help him, and it’s a great relationship.”

In a past interview, Dejan Kulusevski noted that Djed Spence has been unbelievable since he started playing and noted that he does not need much supervision.

He added that Djed Spence only needed the chance to showcase his potential and once it happened, he dropped down the gauntlet and showed Tottenham Hotspur what they had been missing.

“This is probably only the beginning for him. He can have a very good career if he keeps going and works hard,” he revealed.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently placed 14th in the Premier League table, just three points behind struggling Manchester United.

Getting more playing time means Djed Spence has a chance to show what he can do for the club and save them from the misery.
