Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has not had the best after the announcement of his break up was followed by a poor showing in goal for Udinese against Inter.
The Nigerian goalkeeper conceded three goals for the second time in a row in Serie A as Inter scrapped a 3-2 win over Udinese in the first game of the Serie A today.
A brace from Lautaro Martinez and another goal from Davide Frattesi were enough for Inter to claim a 3-2 win despite Udinese's goals from Christian Kabasele and Lorenzo Lucca making the game tight towards the end.
Inter continued their recent trend of fast starts, with Frattesi scoring within 40 seconds to compound Okoye’s early on.
Despite dominating the first half, Inter missed several chances, with Martínez and Frattesi both guilty of poor finishing.
Udinese capitalised on Inter’s wastefulness, just before half-time, leveling the score before the break through Kabasele’s header from Jordan Zemura’s cross.
However, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez quickly restored the away side’s lead with a close-range finish from Federico Dimarco’s cross.
Just two minutes into the second half, Martínez doubled his tally, combining with Marcus Thuram to score a third for Inter.
Udinese fought back in the closing stages, with Oier Zarraga and Kabasele testing Inter’s defense before substitute Lucca gave the home side hope by scoring with 10 minutes left.
Despite late pressure from Udinese, Inter held on to secure their third win of the season, stifling Udinese’s late push for an equaliser.
