France international Kylian Mbappe hasn't had the fairy tale start to life at Real Madrid he would have hoped for after his summer move to the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence in summer signing Kylian Mbappe, urging fans to expect a turnaround in form as the star prepares to face Leganes in La Liga action on Sunday.

After years of speculation and near misses, Real Madrid finally secured Mbappé’s signature during the summer transfer window.

However, his start at the Spanish capital has been less explosive than anticipated. With 10 goal involvements in all competitions so far, the Frenchman’s contributions are solid but fall short of the lofty expectations he has set in recent seasons.

Speaking ahead of the match, Ancelotti praised Mbappé’s recent efforts, noting his improved physical condition after the international break.

"Kylian Mbappe trained well during the break and improved his condition,” the Italian tactician said, as quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano. “He will show his qualities tomorrow.”

Mbappe benefited from the international break, as he was left out of the French squad, allowing him to rest and focus on regaining top form.

The Los Blancos faithful will hope this respite serves as a turning point, especially with the team trailing league leaders Barcelona by five points.

Real Madrid sits on 27 points but holds a game in hand, making the clash against Leganes a critical opportunity to close the gap.

As the reigning La Liga champions aim to reclaim top spot, much of the spotlight will rest on Mbappe to deliver a performance befitting his reputation.
