“We trained a lot together. I was training with the first team most days when he was there. He was just on a different level even back then, especially physically. He was untouchable and a great player,” Joe Chalmers said as quoted by Dunfermline Press.

Joe Chalmers added that Victor Wanyama joining Dunfermline Athletic is a great boost for the squad and his arrival means a lot to the team.

Chalmers explained that Victor Wanyama is not selfish when it comes to sharing his skills and the players are already enjoying time spent with him.

He revealed that Victor Wanyama has motivated the players to do well and going forward, Dunfermline Athletic will be the team to beat. Chalmers also explained that Victor Wanyama is determined to help the club and it shows in how he interacts with the players.

"He's also a great man as well. He just spoke in front of the boys there about his mistake and how much he wants to help us. I'm confident that he'll bounce back,” Joe Chalmers said.

"His arrival was obviously a bit of a surprise, not just for us in the changing room, but probably for the whole league. As much as all the noise and that about it, Victor is here to win and to help us. You can see that he's determined to do that."

Joe Chalmers pointed out that squad is all about impressing Victor Wanyama, which is a great thing going forward since every player will be striving to be the best version of themselves.

Victor Wanyama is one of the most experienced if not the most experienced in the squad, having played for top clubs like Celtic, Tottenham Hotspur, CF Montreal and Southampton.

"Just him being there, even in training the last couple of days, it gives everybody a lift. Just getting to train with somebody like him for all of us is important,” he added.

"You want to do well, you want to impress him, so just his presence there I think is going to be a big thing in the squad."

Victor Wanyama signed with the Scottish club about a week ago and made his debut on Saturday, against Ayr where his team lost 3-0. Victor Wanyama did not get enough playing time as he was red-carded about 20 minutes after entering the pitch.
