Victor Osimhen receives high praise from former Napoli player, Raffaele Ametrano
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen received high praise from retired Italian footballer and former Napoli player Raffaele Ametrano.
Ametrano hailed Osimhen as the "strongest striker" in Serie A while speaking on Radio CRC while previewing Napoli's upcoming blockbuster clash against Juventus.
Ametrano was an Italian midfielder who played for multiple clubs between 1991 to 2010 and notably for Napoli in the 2001/02 season where he made 22 appearances.
Ametrano on Osimhen
Speaking on Napoli's chances against Juventus, Ametrano listed Partenopei's strengths one of which was Super Eagles striker Osimhen.
"In front, they have the strongest centre forward in our league, Victor Osimhen. He is a player who tires you to such an extent that you lose the decisive meter," Ametrano said.
The 49-year-old continued, "even in yesterday's goal he had a 10/15 meter dash ahead of the defender. It's not easy to mark Osimhen."
"He arrives with impressive clarity in the penalty area with the work he manages to do. If he manages to have physical and mental continuity he will score a lot of goals between now and the end,” Ametrano continued.
Osimhen has scored 10 goals in 13 Serie A games for Napoli this season which makes him the top scorer in the league.
