Ballon d'Or 2024: 'I have already won' — Manchester City star Rodri makes bold claim
Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has a strong claim to win the Ballon d'Or after winning the Premier League and Euro 2024.
The Cityzen’s beat the Bees 2-1, and after falling to defeat despite his side’s valiant effort, Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank, sang the praises of his opposite number and explained what makes him elite.
What Frank said
"I respect Pep Guardiola very much and a lot of the reasons I do is because he made tactical changes at halftime, and then he is not too proud to put the ball down in the corner because they need to win. We must have done something right today."
He then went on to praise Haaland, who scored a brace against his team off the back of consecutive hat-tricks.
"Haaland is a fantastic striker; he got a little bit of help today with a deflection and a mistake we don't usually do."
Meanwhile, Haaland’s double against Brentford took his season’s tally to nine goals in only four games—a Premier League record, eclipsing Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, who scored four in as many games.
