Pep Guardiola spoke to Fulham's Adama Traore after Manchester City came from behind to win 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium and the winger has revealed what he was told.

Fulham winger Adama Traore has opened up about a crucial conversation he had with Pep Guardiola following his missed opportunities in the dramatic 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.

The game, played earlier this month, saw Traore come close on several occasions, but his failure to convert could have significantly changed the outcome for Fulham.

After the final whistle, Guardiola approached Traore on the pitch to offer words of encouragement and constructive advice. Reflecting on the encounter, Traore shared insights into what the legendary manager told him.

"I've known him for a few years, but it's always appreciated. He is the best coach in the world, without a doubt. After the game he came up to me to tell it was a good game. He gave me some pointers on how to finish the chances I had against them. I met him at Barca. When I arrived at Aston Villa I also had a call with him and he has always been friendly." Traore revealed in an interview with El Larguero.

Had the 28-year-old converted even one of his missed chances, Fulham might have secured a different result against the Premier League champions.

Traore's respect for Guardiola goes beyond just their recent exchange. He recalled a previous conversation when he joined Aston Villa, where Guardiola reached out to offer support. "He has always been friendly" he noted.

Adama Traore now has his sight set at his next challenge as Fulham prepare to meet Aston Villa at home on October 19.

With Pep Guardiola's advice in mind, perhaps Adama Traore will convert more of his chances in the coming matches.

Manchester City on the other hand, will be away at Wolves on Sunday October 20.
