Kenya will face Zimbabwe in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers Group J opener on Friday.

The match will take place at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 PM East African Time (EAT).

Originally, the Harambee Stars were set to host Zimbabwe in Nairobi, but due to Nyayo National Stadium not meeting Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards, they will instead play their home fixture on neutral ground in Uganda.

Despite the venue change Engin Firat charges will look to begin their AFCON qualification campaign on a high note.

Kenya’s national broadcaster, KBC, has confirmed that it has secured the rights to broadcast the match live.

“The match between Kenya and Zimbabwe will be live on KBC Channel One,” said the national broadcaster in a statement.

KBC Channel One is available to viewers on various platforms, including terrestrial feed, Signet, Zuku, Gotv, and DStv.

For fans outside of Kenya, streaming information is yet to be confirmed.

However, viewers in Zimbabwe can catch the game on DStv and ZBC Zimbabwe.

Football enthusiasts who will not be able to access the broadcast can follow live updates on Pulse Sports' social media pages and read timely match reports for the latest developments.

The Harambee Stars come into this match with some momentum, having secured a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in their last encounter during the 2024 Cosafa Cup Group B match in South Africa on July 2.

Kenya has been in decent form, winning two of their last three matches across all competitions. Their only defeat during this period came against Comoros.

The two teams have met 11 times across all competitions, with Kenya winning six matches, compared to Zimbabwe's single victory.

The other four matches have ended in draws thus the record will give Kenya confidence as they seek to maintain their dominance over their Southern African opponents.
