Harambee Stars supporters will get an opportunity to watch the national team in action against Burundi and Ivory Coast after earlier fears that they would be left in the dark.

Kenyans will be able to watch Harambee Stars in action during their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast on TV.

National broadcaster KBC TV will beam the two matches live from the Bing National Stadium in Lilongwe, Malawi after securing the free-to-air rights for the contests.

Harambee Stars will take on Burundi on June 7 and African champions Ivory Coast four days later, with both matches played in Malawi as Kenya does not have an approved stadium.

The latest development is a relief to Kenyan fans after earlier fears that they would be left in the dark following a delay in making payments for the free-to-air rights despite a deal having been sealed in February.

Harambee Stars have played just one match at home since the country’s nine-month FIFA ban was lifted in November 2022, hosting South Sudan in a friendly match at Kasarani last September.

Kenyans were still able to watch all matches the national team played away through various platforms and that will still continue through KBC who also broadcasted Kenya’s two matches at the Four Nations tournament in Malawi in March.

Harambee Stars are third in Group F with three points from two matches, same as Burundi, with the Ivorians top on six points, a similar tally with Gabon, while the Gambia, who will now under ex-Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry, and Seychelles are yet to record a point.
