The former Kenya Police star has left the door open for a possible move to either of Tanzania’s top teams following his great run of form that sees him lead the Golden Boot chase.

Harambee Stars forward Elvis has revealed his ambitions of playing for either Simba or Yanga as he continues being linked with a move away from Singida Black Stars.

Rupia is currently flying high in the Tanzanian top flight as he leads the goalscoring charts with seven goals from 14 matches, a run of form that has seen him linked with move to Simba ahead of the midseason transfer window.

Simba, who have experienced an upturn in form under new South African coach Fadlu Davids, are looking for some reinforcements in attack and Rupia is among the players mentioned as key targets for them.

“As of now, I have personally not received an offer from any club. Maybe it can come later,” Rupia as per FRANK Sports News.

“The truth is that there is no player in the country who would not like to play for Simba or Yanga. When an offer comes and I agree with the terms, I might leave,” added Rupia, leaving the door open for a possible transfer.

Rupia’s goals have lifted Singida Black Stars to third on the log with 30 points from 14 matches, three behind leaders Azam, and one a drift of second-placed Simba, who have played three matches fewer, while Yanga, with four games in hand, are fourth on 27 points.

The striker is no stranger to leading the scoring charts, having claimed the FKF Premier League Golden Boot in the 2022-23 season with a record 27 goals while at Kenya Police, which earned him a move to Tanzania.

He joined Singida Fountain Gate before the club changed management midway through the 2023-24 season which saw the player, alongside Kenyan compatriots Duke Abuya and Joash Onyango shipped to Ihefu FC, which has since changed names to Singida Black Stars.

Rupia and Onyango remain at the club after Abuya joined Yanga in the off-season but it appears the striker’s form is about to earn him a big-money transfer to one of the two biggest teams in Tanzania.
