Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has handed a maiden start to Alfred Scriven while benching a Michael Olunga, Jonah Ayunga and Aboud Omar from the squad that played on Friday.

Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has rung the changes for Kenya’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with captain Michael Olunga among those not starting.

Firat has stuck with Bryne Omondi in goal with Johnstone Omurwa playing in central defence alongside Anthony Akumu while Daniel Anyembe plays at right-back as Erick Ouma slots in at left-back.

In midfield, Richard Odada is joined by Duke Abuya and Austin Odhiambo while in attack, Ronney Onyango and John Avire will play either side of Alfred Scriven.

Scriven is perhaps the surprise inclusion after missing out on previous games following a lack of the necessary documentation and he has an opportunity to showcase his talent in the dead rubber in Polokwane, South Africa.

Kenya and Namibia are both out of contention for a place at AFCON 2025 but will be playing for pride and also to boost their FIFA rankings.

Harambee Stars drew 1-1 with Zimbabwe last Friday while Namibia held Cameroon to a goalless draw.

Kenya have only one win in the qualifiers and it came against the Brave Warriors, having secured a 2-1 victory at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg in September, and they will be aiming for the double over Namibia.
