The Kenya Police midfielder has backed Benni McCarthy's decision not to drop Michael Olunga against fan criticism, emphasising his importance to Harambee Stars.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has been under fire in recent days with attacks on his performance in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against the Gambia and Gabon.
Michael Olunga scored in both matches, as Harambee Stars drew 3-3 against the Gambia in an away match and lost to Gabon 2-1 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Despite his display, fans remain unsatisfied and have even argued that Olunga should not be among the starting 11 going forward, but coach Benni McCarthy and Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna think otherwise.
