Erambo, who is a key midfielder for Harambee Stars nowadays, has revealed his target for the side at the upcoming 2024 CHAN after clinching Tusker's February player of the month.

Harambee Stars midfielder Chrispine Erambo has set his sights on an ambitious six-month plan after being named Tusker Player of the Month for February.

The award, decided by votes from fellow players, recognizes outstanding consistency and impact over the month. Erambo clinched the accolade with 16 votes out of the 29 cast, surpassing fellow nominees—striker Ryan Ogam (7 votes) and midfielder Siwa Shaphan (6 votes).

Speaking to Pulse Sports at the Utalii Hotel in Ruaraka after receiving the award, Erambo credited his success to key figures who played a crucial role in his development.

“I want to thank God for the gift of life and this moment, which is a big one and truly inspiring. Last time, Ryan won it. This time, I did it, so it is a big motivation for the club,” Erambo stated.

The former Kibra Saints midfielder also praised the club for introducing the initiative, which he believes drives players to give their all.

“The players are always looking forward to winning awards like these. It keeps them going.

“It shows your work is being recognized. The other players also wanted this award, so it is just the work of God that your effort gets acknowledged. I hope my work will be recognized again next time as I aim at winning it once more.”

Erambo, who began his career at Kibera Saints before moving to National Super League side Mombasa Elite, has consistently been a key player for every team he has played for, including Tusker, where he signed in September 2023.

His importance was evident when he earned a national team call-up in March 2024 for the Four-Nation Tournament. Erambo made an immediate impact, starting both games against Malawi in the semifinal and Zimbabwe in the final, although he was substituted in the first half with Kenya trailing 1-0. Since then, he has accumulated 10 caps for Harambee Stars.

With the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, Erambo has outlined his bold ambitions to help Kenya reach the final and lift the trophy on home soil.

“Just the same spirit I have for the club is what I replicate onto the national platform,” he said.

“My target as a player is to help the team get to the final and clinch that title for the national team because we are the ones hosting it.”

Erambo’s confidence and commitment to both club and country reflect his determination to leave a lasting impact on Kenyan football as he continues to grow in stature on the big stage.
