Omondi, who has cemented himself as Harambee Stars' first choice goalkeeper, has revealed an ambitious target for the season at Bandari.
Harambee Stars goalkeeper Bryne Omondi has set his sights on clinching the coveted Golden Glove award this season, aiming to solidify his position as one of the league's finest shot-stoppers.
The Bandari FC star has been pivotal in his team's strong title push, delivering a commanding performance in their recent 1-0 victory over Nairobi City Stars.
His heroics not only secured the crucial three points but also propelled him to the top of the clean sheet standings, surpassing KCB’s Faruk Shikalo by one shutout. Shikalo, too, kept a clean sheet during KCB’s goalless draw against Bidco United.

The KCB custodian aims to establish himself as Harambee Stars first choice goalkeeper.
Omondi’s journey back to top form has been nothing short of inspiring. Last season, his momentum was derailed by a serious leg injury sustained during Harambee Stars’ 2-2 draw with Russia.
The injury required surgery, sidelining him for an extended period while he was still at KCB. Despite the setback, Omondi managed an impressive record of seven clean sheets in 15 appearances upon his return.
Now fully recovered and in peak condition, the Bandari goalkeeper is determined to stay injury-free and make the most of his first full season with the 2019 FKF Cup champions.
In an interview with Mozzart Sport, Omondi expressed confidence in his current form and shared his ambition to become the league’s best goalkeeper.
“It’s been a tremendous start, with six clean sheets in seven matches,” he said after Bandari’s convincing 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks earlier in the week. “I believe it is a good run, and I hope to be recognized as the best keeper at the end.”
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Omondi emphasized the importance of consistency and resilience.
“The previous season was cut short by an injury that required surgery. Now that I’m fully recovered, I’m focused on playing as many matches as possible to achieve my dream of winning the Golden Glove,” he added.
Omondi is acutely aware of the stiff competition in the race for the prestigious award, citing the league’s abundance of talented goalkeepers as motivation to maintain his high standards.

With his exceptional start to the season and a resolute mindset, Bryne Omondi is firmly on track to not only help Bandari contend for the league title but also stake his claim as the best goalkeeper in the league.
