Both Jonah Ayunga and Richard Odada edured contrasting afternoons for their respective clubs in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Jonah Ayunga featured for 27 minutes off the bench but was unable to prevent St Mirren from succumbing to a 2-1 defeat against Dundee in a Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon.
Ayunga, who has netted just once in the league this season, had a tidy display in terms of passing accuracy but otherwise failed to make a significant impact. As 2025 approaches, the Kenyan international will be eager to find greater consistency in his performances.
Simon Murray was the star of the afternoon, heading home twice to end Dundee’s three-match losing streak in the Premiership and secure a much-needed win.

Harambee Stars duo provide dazzling displays in England to wrap up individual 2024 campains in style
Zak Vyner and Vincent Harper were both on song for their clubs in England, with both Harambee Stars prospects instrumental in making sure they ended 2024 on a high note.
Murray's opener came shortly after missing a golden opportunity, where his close-range effort was cleared off the line by Alex Iacovitti. Undeterred, the striker made amends just two minutes later, leaping highest to meet a pinpoint delivery from Josh Mulligan.
St Mirren, however, responded swiftly. Toyosi Olusanya replicated Murray’s effort, converting Elvis Bwomono’s cross with a well-taken header to level the scores 11 minutes after falling behind.
Despite St Mirren's dominance in possession and multiple attempts to find a winner, it was Murray who had the final say. In the 66th minute, he rose to meet Ryan Astley's cross, nodding it past the goalkeeper to seal all three points for Dundee.
Richard Odada watches on as Dundee United triumph over Aberdeen
In another Scottish Premiership fixture, Richard Odada, Ayunga’s Harambee Stars teammate, was an unused substitute as Dundee United secured a dramatic 1-0 victory against Aberdeen at a packed Tannadice.
Kevin Holt's 94th-minute header clinched the win for United, narrowing the gap between the two sides to just three points.
The match was an enthralling, high-tempo affair, with both goalkeepers, Jack Walton and Dimitar Mitov, pulling off remarkable saves to keep the game goalless in the first half. Walton produced a superb reflex stop to deny Ester Sokler, while Mitov twice thwarted Glenn Middleton’s efforts in quick succession.
