Manchester City's Pep Guardiola talks about the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea, and how the sensations are different ahead of Saturday's clash against Inter.

Pep Guardiola leads Manchester City to a second Champions League final this weekend, and he has revealed the difference between their defeat in the first final against Chelsea and the upcoming match versus Inter.

What Guardiola said

The former Bayern Munich boss was speaking in a press conference today ahead of their UCL final clash against the Nerrazurri on Saturday when he drew comparisons with the match against Chelsea in 2021.

Guardiola led the Sky Blues to their first Champions League final in May 2021, when they faced Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea. The West London side came out 1-0 winners, and the Spanish manager explains why the match against Inter will be different.

Pep explained that his team are still in a competitive spirit, as they played in the FA Cup last weekend, whereas, in 2021, training was all they had in the way of preparation.

Also, he pointed out that they had lost to Chelsea in consecutive games prior to the final, and it cast doubts in their minds.

“One week ago we won the FA Cup,” Pep said, per Manchesterworld.uk

“In that moment we were just preparing for a final, we’d lost two times against Thomas Tuchel’s team and had some doubts about if we could do it. It is not the same but they play five in the back, both teams, Chelsea and Inter.

Meanwhile, Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola explains why Kyle Walker missed training today.
