Al Ahly are preparing for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup where they will be aiming to extend their legacy in international football after CAF matchups.

African Champions Al Ahly are poised to make a significant impact as they embark on their journey in the first-ever FIFA Intercontinental Cup scheduled to begin on October 29.

The prestigious tournament will host elite clubs representing champions from five different continents commencing on September 22.

This grand event follows closely on the heels of Al Ahly's CAF Champions League campaign where they face Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC.

The first of their two-legged encounter will take place in Nairobi on September 13 followed by a rematch in Cairo on September 20.

The victor over these two games will secure a spot in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

In the much-anticipated FIFA Intercontinental Cup, Al Ahly is grouped with heavyweights from around the globe.

Their adversaries include AFC Champions Al-Ain of the UAE, European giants Real Madrid, New Zealand's Auckland City FC—winners of the OFC Champions League, a yet-to-be-decided Copa America champion, and Mexican club CF Pachuca, reigning champions of the CONCACAF.

Al Ahly's opening match at the tournament will see them face the winner of the initial game between Al-Ain and Auckland City FC in a match set to unfold at the Cairo International Stadium.

On December 11 will feature another high-octane match as the Conmebol champions face off against CF Pachuca.

The grand finale of the tournament is scheduled for December 18 where Real Madrid will compete against the victor of the fourth game for the coveted title.
