Gor Mahia have announced the termination of their Brazilian head coach Leonardo Martins Neiva with immediate effect following a troubled four-month spell in charge of the record FKFPL champions.
With assistant manager Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno taking charge of the side, the 21-time champions hoped to jumpstart their season against bitter rivals AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji derby but the fixture was postponed due to a lack of stadia.
The side now turn their attention to Homeboyz in a fixture that has proven to be quite challenging for K'Ogalo in recent time.
The defending champions have struggled against the Homeboyz in their last five encounters with their only win coming in a 2-1 victory after penalties in the FKF Charity Shield final back in 2023.
