Gor Mahia striker Christopher Ochieng has offered an introspective and hopeful outlook following his team's 3-1 defeat to Kenya Police FC, a result that ended their remarkable 19-game unbeaten streak in the FKF Premier League.

The match, which was played at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday afternoon saw a determined Police squad overturn Gor Mahia's early lead.

The game began favorably for Gor Mahia, with Austin Odhiambo netting a goal in the sixth minute setting the stage for what appeared to be another victorious outing.

Police FC midfidler Kenneth Muguna emerged as a pivotal figure first leveling the score and then assisting in a goal that put Police in the lead. The final nail in the coffin was delivered in the 93rd minute by Okello, who secured his brace and Police's victory.

In response to this unexpected turn of events, Ochieng expressed a mix of pride and motivation.

"Proud of my team's effort! We may have lost the game, but we never lost our spirit. Losing a game doesn't define us; it fuels our determination. Sometimes, the greatest battles are lost, but the war continues," Ochieng stated.

Despite the setback Gor Mahia remains at the top of the league table with 43 points from 20 matches.

Kenya Police FC's triumph elevated them to third place after amassing 33 points from the same number of matches.

Looking ahead, Gor Mahia is set to face Ulinzi Stars next Saturday at Machakos Stadium.
