Austin Odhiambo has been instrumental to the team's recent resurgence after their early season slump.
Gor Mahia's star midfielder, Austin Odhiambo, has set his sights on making history by clinching a second consecutive FKF Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
The dynamic playmaker, fondly referred to as the "Rolls Royce" of K’Ogalo’s midfield, aims to replicate the brilliance that powered his team to a record 21st league title in the 2023/24 season.
Odhiambo’s stellar form last season earned him the league’s top individual accolade, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
With four goals in just five appearances this campaign, the midfielder has been instrumental in Gor Mahia’s strong resurgence in their title defence after a shaky start to the season.

'I have nothing to prove'- Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno claims amid reports he will be overlooked for permanent Gor Mahia job
Interim coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno has guided the Gor Mahia to three consecutive wins, but reports indicate he will not be landing the role on a permanent basis.
K'Ogalo's slump in form that saw head coach Leonardo Neiva sacked came when Odhiambo was away on international duty with the national team Harambee Stars.
Since his return, he has netted in back-to-back games under interim coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno to get the team's season back on track.
In their latest fixture, a thrilling 3-2 victory over Talanta, Odhiambo showcased his class once again. His precision from a free kick created the first goal for Sylvester Owino, and he followed it up with a superb strike of his own. Christopher Ochieng sealed the victory with the third goal.
Despite his remarkable performances, Odhiambo remains focused on team success. “I still can’t say (if I’ll win the MVP again). The most important thing is that the team wins, then the rest will follow,” he told Pulse Sports.
However, he admitted that the MVP title remains a personal ambition. “Of course, I must aim higher, and it’s something I’m looking at.”
For Odhiambo, individual and team goals go hand in hand. Reflecting on the team’s ambitions, he added, “I feel the same way about our target as a team. Last time we were champions, and this season we are aiming for that again to have a successful season.”
As Gor Mahia aim for more silverware, Odhiambo’s form will undoubtedly be a driving force in their quest for back-to-back league titles and perhaps another MVP crown for the midfield maestro.
