Gor Mahia player Rooney Onyango is among four players who have been accused of using a forged letter from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to apply for a Visa to Italy.
Onyango was reportedly set to travel to Italy to finalise a transfer but the journey hit a snag when his passport was confiscated by the Italian Embassy over the letter that he used to apply for the Visa.
Now, FKF has revealed that the player, alongside three others namely; Ben Stanley, Shariff Majabe and Musa Masika, used a forged federation letterhead and the FKF CEO’s signature to apply for the Visa to Italy.

Rooney Onyango's surprise omission from Gor Mahia's squad for the CAF Champions League clash has raised questions ahead of the crucial match.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that a former player, currently residing abroad, and an NSL club official and/or their agents are behind the forged FKF documentation and the Visa applications,” a statement from FKF read.
“The federation continues to engage the Italian Embassy with a view of having the retained passports released back to the four players.
“The federation has formally initiated internal disciplinary proceedings against the individuals believed to have forged the FKF documents used in the Visa application.”

The player remained behind amid rumours that he was set to travel to Italy for seal a deal before it later emerged that his passport had been held at the Italian Embassy.
