Gor Mahia team manager Victor Nyaoro explains that K'Ogallo will fight until the end in order to defend their title and are unfazed by the threat posed by Police and Tusker.

Gor Mahia team manager Victor Nyaoro has warned FKF Premier League leaders Kenya Police and Tusker that K'Ogallo have not given up their title defense.

The record league champions have been inconsistent this season but Nyaoro said that K'Ogallo know how to finish the season strongly, comparing the league to a marathon.

"This league is like a Marathon. You can command the race in front but get out-sprinted towards the end. We are watching the table leaders keenly,’’ Nyaoro told Citizen Digital.

Gor Mahia boast of 28 points after 17 matches, eight points adrift of the joint leaders but have one game in hand. They suffered a setback over the weekend after failing to get maximum points against Kakamega Homeboyz.

"We are not yet halfway… we can still re-energize and hit our mission of winning the third consecutive title," Nyaoro maintained.

Gor Mahia have won three of their last five matches with a loss and a draw to their name. The last three seasons have been a close title battle between Gor Mahia and Tusker but the introduction of Police into the mix further complicates matters for Gor.

Police is the inform team in the league, having won 10 of the past 11 matches and remain unbeaten during that period.

A managerial change in November was crucial as the law enforcers appointed Burundian coach Etienne Ndayiragije and the decision has proved a masterstroke.

Gor Mahia will look to close the gap on the leaders when the face off Post Rangers this weekend.
