Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier will not be going unopposed for the club’s top post after a challenger emerged ahead of Sunday’s hotly-contested elections.
Ambrose Rachier will face competition after all for the position of Gor Mahia chairman during the club’s hotly-contested elections set to take place at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
Rachier had been reported to be going unopposed earlier in the week but he now has a challenger for the top seat after outgoing treasurer Dolphina Odhiambo threw her hat in the ring for the chairperson’s position.
Following the final list of candidates released by the Electoral Board on Saturday, only two candidates will contest the top seat, being Rachier and Odhiambo, who has been a big critic of his leadership in the months leading up to the elections.
