The K'Ogalo CEO also urged supporters to turn up in large numbers to support the team.

Gor Mahia CEO Raymond Ouro knows that while K'Ogalo has been enjoying good form and picking points, it might be a different story on Sunday.

The 19-time league champions will face AFC Leopards for the famed Mashemeji Derby in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The derby comes when AFC Leopards have been struggling for form, as they have only won one game in their last eight matches.

But Ouro has dismissed the two teams' contrasting fortunes while urging fans to turn out in big numbers and cheer their team to a win.

“I urge the fans to turn out in large numbers as the team is doing well. We are on the home stretch, and the boys need their support in the last push towards the Premier League title.

"The first leg ended in a barren draw, but the derby has no respect for form. It is a derby, and it must be given the respect it deserves,” he said.

Gor Mahia goes into the game on the back of a goalless draw against Wazito FC in a match played last Sunday in Muhoroni.

AFC Leopards, on the other, had cruised past Nzoia Sugar, beating them 1-0. A win against Gor Mahia will help Leopards jump to the fifth spot.

Gor Mahia leads the log with 63 points, with Tusker following on 61 points, while Nzoia Sugar is third with 57 points as five matches remain till the end of the season.
