The Gatundu South-based side currently occupies the top spot on the FKFWPL table.

Gaspo Women FC midfielder Lydia Akoth has fired a warning to her former side Zetech Sparks ahead of the awkward reunion with the Students on Sunday.

Akoth and the Purples host Zetech at GEMS Cambridge in what will be the second time the former Kenya U20 international has played against her former team.

The midfielder, who joined Gaspo in September last year, believes that her side has what it takes to gun down the Students the same way they did in the season's first leg.

“We are going to pick up the three points at GEMS. This season we have to lift the trophy and to do that we have to pick up wins in the next eight matches,” she said.

Akoth is the club’s leading scorer, having netted seven goals in the ten matches she has started this season.

“It’s a great feeling to feature in the top scorers’ list and the secret to this is nothing short of teamwork. On the ground, I need to be fed the ball in order to create chances and get goals for my team, and my fellow players do just that for me, ” added Akoth.

The Gatundu-based side currently occupies the top spot on the log, while Zetech Sparks go into the fixture with no wins in the last two matches.

Gaspo showed no signs of rust when they returned to competitive action last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Kayole Starlet.

In another match that will be played on Sunday, defending champions Vihiga Queens face Trans Nzoia Falcons at the Mumias Sports Complex.

Elsewhere, league strugglers, Kangemi Ladies will face Kayole Starlet while Nakuru City Queens tackle Thika Queens as Bunyore Starlet entertain Wadadia.
