Jinja-based club Gaddafi FC are planning a pre-season tour in Ethiopia; a reliable source has intimated to Pulse Uganda Sports that the Soldier Boys are planning a stronger challenge ahead of the 2023/24 season.
For the second consecutive time, Gaddafi FC have been invited to the Amhara Bank Tana Cup, a pre-season tournament in Ethiopia featuring a couple of teams in the nation's top-flight league.
In the previous pre-season, Gaddafi FC registered two wins against Bahir Dar Kenema and Diedawa Kenema, winning 3-0 and 1-2, respectively. Other Ethiopian sides that participated in the tournament included Wolkitie City FC and Kolfe Testa FC.
Last season, Gadaffi finished in the eleventh season with 31 points from 28 matches.
In the ongoing transfer window, the club has witnessed several departures, including head coach Wasswa Bbosa, crossing over to newly promoted Mbarara City FC.
Top players that have exited the club include Sadiq Sekyembe, John Byamukama, Ibrahim Kiyemba, Alex Kitatta and Joel Mutakubwa. Gaddafi has enjoyed two consecutive seasons in the top-flight league.

FUFA Big League club Police Football Club have acquired the services of former Arua Hill striker Isaac Ogwang.
The club is also working round the clock to bolster its depleted squad ahead of the new season. Several players are reportedly in talks with Gaddafi ahead of the pre-season tour.
