And, to ensure the work in the bid progresses well on the Ugandan end, FUFA has appointed FUFA's First Vice President, Justus Mugisha, as the head of a team of eight members.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has set up a seven-member committee to internally oversee the progress and work for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations joint bid.
On May 23, the country submitted a joint bid to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) along with neighbours Tanzania and Kenya.
And, to ensure the work in the bid progresses well on the Ugandan end, FUFA has appointed FUFA's First Vice President, Justus Mugisha, as the head of a team of eight members.
Darius Mugoye, FUFA's second Vice President, will deputize Mugisha in the select committee.
The committee also includes 3rd FUFA President Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, Rogers Byamukama, Ronnie Kalema, Rogers Mulindwa and Amin Bbosa Nkono as members.
Uganda must beat off competition from Algeria, Botswana and Egypt, the other sides that have expressed interest.
The rights holder will be decided on August 15 by the CAF executive in Cairo, Egypt.
