The 2023 winter transfer window will go down in history, especially for Premier League clubs as they broke their spending record.
After so many twists, dramas and hijacking, the 2023 winter transfer window finally shut at midnight (GMT+1) on February 1, 2023.
The 2022-2023 transfer windows (Summer and Winter) reached an unprecedented level for Premier League clubs after they broke their record.
Following the conclusion of the winter window last night, it was confirmed that Premier League clubs spent a record £2.8bn in the two windows, with £780.1m on 52 permanent signings in January alone.
Chelsea accounted for most of it after they set a new British transfer-record fee to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. The Blues also paid big money to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.
