Several stars will be out of contract at their respective clubs in July 2023 after the seasons have been wrapped up and will be free to secure services elsewhere.
10. Raphael Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund)
The Portuguese international is Dortmund’s starting left-back but, both parties have decided against renewing.
He’s set to depart after 159 appearances so far for Dortmund, having joined them in 2016 from Lorient. There have been links to both Newcastle and Tottenham in England.
09. Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Manchester United, Barcelona, and Inter Milan are among the many clubs linked with the French forward, as his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach gets to expire in July.
He has so far played 109 matches for the German outfit, having joined them in 2019 from Guingamp.
08. Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)
The Belgian is set to snub any offers from Leicester City, having witnessed them struggle to stay in the premier league this season.
He has so far played 138 games for the Foxes, with 18 goals since joining them in 2019 from Monaco.
07. Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)
Zaha wants a shot at the Champions League; whether that’s in England or abroad and might well get that crack at Tottenham or Arsenal.
The winger has made about 274 appearances since rejoining Palace in 2015, and he feels ready for a fresh challenge.
06. Marco Asensio (Real Madrid)
Having looked almost certain to leave the club this summer, in search of regular game-time, he has started four straight La Liga games (scoring three goals).
His future is however not certain, and looks destined for life elsewhere. He has 187 appearances to his name, with 37 games for Real Madrid.
05. Adrien Rabiot (Juventus)
Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool have all been strongly linked with the Frenchman, who had a resurgence this season.
“There’s a chance I leave, but I could also sign a new contract with Juventus,” he was quoted by Sky Sports
It’s not certain whether he will go beyond the four years he has had at Juventus. To this day, he has played 122 times for them, scoring 13 goals in the process.
04. Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
After eight years of diligent service at Anfield, Firmino will ‘leave’ the club when his contract is up this summer. Barcelona and Inter Milan are among the clubs reportedly interested.
Having joined the Reds in 2015 from TSG Hoffenheim, the Brazilian has gone on to play 254 games, scoring 80 goals.
03. Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)
Manchester City are yet to extend the German’s stay at the Etihad. And, he is reportedly talking to Barcelona at the moment.
He joined City seven years ago in 2016 and has gone on to feature 186 times, scoring 42 goals.
02. N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)
Injury problems have dogged him over the past two seasons and even kept him out of the World Cup.
He is still best in the business when fit, but is he fit often enough to merit a new deal at Chelsea or elsewhere?
Barcelona have kept close tabs. Since 2016, the 32-year-old has played 190 games for the Blues so far, scoring 11 times.
01. Lionel Messi (PSG)
Messi looks almost certain to leave Paris Saint Germain for Saudi Arabia and a ludicrous contract this summer, that will make him the highest athlete after Cristiano Ronaldo is on the table from Al Hilal.
The World Cup winner has so far played 71 games for PSG, scoring 31 times.
Note: Both Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema are expected to stay for at least another season at Real Madrid, with agreements, reportedly already reached.
