KCB were held to a hard-fought FKF Premier League draw by Kenya Police in a closely contested match at Dandora Stadium.

Kenya Police and KCB played out a 1-1 draw in their FKF Premier League clash at Dandora Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

It’s a second stalemate in a row for the Law Enforcers, whose goal was scored by Francis Kahata, while the Bankers opened the scoring through Francis Kahiro, recording their fourth draw of the season.

Despite the draw, KCB remained at the top of the table with 21 points after 10 matches, while Kenya Police climbed to 15th place on the log with eight points and three matches in hand.

KCB started like a house on fire, managing to open the scoring in the third minute when Fracic Kahiro capitalized on a defensive error to find the back of the net after the hosts failed to clear their lines.

Five minutes later, Police nearly found an equalizer when Francis Kahata provided a low cross that Jesse Were failed to convert into the back of the net.

KCB almost doubled their lead shortly after, with midfielder James Kinyanjui unleashing a powerful effort that narrowly missed the target.

It almost got worse for Police in the 20th minute when Baraka Badi lost possession, allowing Michael Mutinda to surge forward and delightfully play in James Kinyanjui, who failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

In the 35th minute goal scorer Francis Kahiro after sustaining an injury was substituted and replaced by Stephen Etyang.

Police looked to get themselves back in the contest and managed to create an opening for Erick Zakayo, but the former Tusker FC man scuffed his effort, missing the target from close range.

The half ended 1-0 in favour of the Bankers.

Police controlled the possession stakes at the start of the second half, but the first decent scoring chance fell to KCB in the 52nd minute when Etyang set-up Lameck Oloo who fired over from ten-yards out with an open goal at his mercy.

Five minutes later, Police were on the attack when Kahata played Were into space inside the box, but his shot from 16-yards out was brilliantly saved by Farouk Shikhalo.

The hosts scored the equalizer in the 63rd after a swift counter-attack saw Francis Kahata firing a shot past Shikalo, 1-1.

KCB continued to press forward after that and threw numbers forward, but their decision-making in the final third was poor.

Consequently, the Law Enforcers defence were able to hold firm and picked up the win on the sunny afternoon.

KCB will be back in action on Sunday 1 December when they host Bidco United, while Kenya Police's next match will be away to AFC Leopards on the same afternoon.
