Police fired Francis Baraza after he got injured while attending CAF A License Training and he is now back to demand Ksh 5 million for unfairly discharging him from his duties.

Big-spending FKF Premier League outfit Police FC have run into a potentially debilitating situation after their former coach Francis Baraza served them with a Sh 4.9 million demand for unfairly discharging him from his duties.

Baraza who led the cops to an impressive podium run last season was unceremoniously replaced by Croatian Zdravko Logarusic last month after he sustained an ankle injury while attending a CAF A License training.

Baraza contends that he was unfairly and constructively dismissed by Police fc and has retained a top sports lawyer to pursue justice on his behalf. The occurrence will definitely peg Police back as they seem to be in some sort of financial straits.

“You have ostensibly declined to pay off his outstanding salary arrears of September 2023 which he duly offered his services.

As a consequence of your flagrant disregard of your contractual and statutory obligations and duties, our client has suffered and continues to suffer great loss, damages, and undue financial hardship, for which he holds you fully liable,” Baraza through his advocate charges.

Baraza is demanding from Police FC Sh3.2 million for constructive dismissal, Sh800,000 for unfair termination of his contract, his salary arrears for September, and a further Sh400,000 for the notice period.

The Sony Sugar legend wants Police FC to pay his dues within seven days failure to which he would institute legal proceedings against the club.

Baraza’s legal representatives Ochutsi Munyendo & Company Advocates are forbidding Police FC from discussing the matter with the fired tactician but with the legal firm.

“Any direct attempts as to coercion, threats or undue influence of our client as to the sums demanded above shall be vigorously and aggressively prosecuted,” the firm warns.
