Legendary English manager Roy Hodgson has agreed to return as Crystal Palace manager until the end of the season.
Roy Hodgson will come out of retirement for the second time, at the age of 75, to replace Patrick Vieira, who succeeded him in 2021.

Vieira was fired last Friday after overseeing a run of 12 matches without a win.
As the results and performances got worse, the Crystal Palace hierarchy decided to act fast to avoid the team sliding into a dangerous relegation battle.
Under-21 coach and former captain Paddy McCarthy was in charge for the disappointing 4-1 defeat away to Arsenal on Sunday.
According to The Telegraph, Talks were already advanced to bring back Hodgson, who was approached as soon as Vieira was sacked.
The idea was essentially a pair of safe hands to steer palace away from relegation before a permanent manager is appointed.

Last January, Hodgson was brought in on a similar short-term deal to try and keep Watford from relegation.
Ultimately, he could not accomplish that, but Palace believes his knowledge and experience will be beneficial.

Despite their disappointing run of form, Palace are still 12th in the table, although, it does help to point out that in such a tight relegation battle, the Eagles are only three points ahead of West Ham who occupy the final relegation place with two games in hand.
Hodgson’s first game in charge will be at home to relegation rivals Leicester City on April 1.
