Shakespeare's football career is best remembered for his pivotal role in Leicester City's historic Premier League title win during the 2015-16 season.

As Claudio Ranieri’s trusted assistant, Shakespeare was instrumental in guiding Leicester to an unexpected championship, a triumph that captivated football fans worldwide.

His success with Leicester did not go unnoticed, and he was promoted to the role of head coach in February 2017 after Ranieri’s departure.

Despite the high hopes that accompanied his promotion, Shakespeare’s tenure as Leicester's manager was challenging.

The team struggled in the early part of the 2017-18 season, leading to his dismissal in October 2017.

However, Shakespeare’s career did not end with this setback.

He continued to make significant contributions to English football in various roles, serving as an assistant manager at clubs including Everton, Watford, Aston Villa, and Norwich City.

Most recently, Shakespeare returned to Leicester City as assistant head coach under Dean Smith in April 2023.

His contract was not renewed following the club's relegation from the Premier League, marking the end of his latest stint with the team.
