Ali was responding to a social media fan, a one Nicholas Walusimbi, who wondered how one of his favourite players had just vanished off the scene.
Former KCCA FC midfielder Gift Ali has opened up about his time off the pitch since undergoing surgery in 2022.
The silky midfielder has been out of action this whole season after a successful knee surgery but is confident of returning to action in the future.
Ali was responding to a social media fan, a one Nicholas Walusimbi, who wondered how one of his favourite players had just vanished off the scene.
"Hello Gigi, hope u are great out there. I'll never 4give u (forgive you)u. u (You) who went thru (through) all the valid football dev't (development) structures. How can u just vanish. (?) With all The Qualities, Discipline & dedication you had. u (You) still owe us the Best you have always shown. Be Blessed." Walusimbi Tweeted and mentioned the midfielder's handle.
The response from the former Proline captain was touching and revealing to those who might have wondered about his whereabouts.
Ali responded by quoting Walusimbi's Tweet: "Hi Walusimbi, I am great, thank you. How are you? I didn't just 'vanish'; I've been doing my best after the surgery I did on my knee last year. TBH, it's really been HELL of a time in my life, let alone my career. It's Lonely out here, but I'll be back, Inshaa Allah. Thank you, bro."
Ali and KCCA parted ways in July 2022 to end his five-year stay at the club.
For now, Ali's focus is on a full recovery before getting back on the field of play.
Whether he will be able to play again, and where are questions that cannot be answered as of now.
What is for sure, however, is that the former Police FC player is one of the most gifted players of his generation.
