Super Eagles forward Isaac Success opened his Serie A account for the season in Udinese’s convincing 3-0 win over Cremonese
Nigerian forward Isaac Success was on the scoresheet with his first goal of the 2022/23 Serie A campaign as Udinese romped to a 3-0 win over Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke’s Cremonese in Serie A.
The Nigeria international was on hand to score Udinese’s third goal in a dominant first-half display as Le Zebrette pushed Cremonese further towards relegation from Serie A with a humbling defeat coming just after the league strugglers claimed their first back-to-back wins of the season against Empoli and Sampdoria.
Success’ first goal this season came after 36 minutes as Udinese’s perfect first half drew to a close.
They had taken the lead after only two minutes through midfielder Lazar Samardzic before doubling their lead through Argentine defender Nehuen Perez, who struck after 27 minutes.
Success topped off the scoring less than 10 minutes later to give Udinese what turned out to be an unassailable lead.
Unfortunately for Success, he could not complete the game after suffering an injury that forced him to be substituted before the end of the first-half.
The Bianconeri defended their lead astutely in the second half without risking too much going forward and were good value for their 3-0 win which sees them move back above Europa Conference League semifinalists, Fiorentina to sit ninth on the table.
Cremonese, on the other hand, must come to terms with the very real prospect of relegation as they pay for an abysmal start to the season that saw them fail to pick a win in Serie A unto February 2023.
